The first Wine of the Week (WoW!)

Menage a Trois Bourbon Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon

When trying out a wine, the first thing I always do is to open the bottle and allow the wine to aerate. This brings out the natural flavors of the wine and....... I'm kidding. As soon as the bottle is opened my glass is full.

Five seconds is enough aeration time, right?

I love wine. I'm a big fan of dry red wines. But on a hot day, a nice crisp white wine really hits the spot. The dry savoriness of a good deep red wine is often just what I need after a long day treating patients, or an even longer day of my kids testing my patience. Often, I just need a single glass after the kids are in bed to whet my palate and help me unwind. Other times, I indulge in a little sangria.

For the first WoW, we're going to get in to a bottle of red. I LOVE Menage a Trois, it was our wedding wine.  But, as much as I love it I've never tried this one!  Let me tell you, this wine is smooooooooth.  Like butter.

Speaking of butter... what is the deal with kids eating butter?  Honestly, my children will eat PIECES of butter.  My 2 year-old would eat it like a lollipop.  It's disgusting.  Kids will eat anything... unless it's an actual meal that you've spent time cooking and placed on a plate in front of them.  THAT food is inedible and basically the end of the world.  But give them a stick of butter.  Or a dust bunny.  Or an old onion peel out of the trash.  I'm telling you - DELICACY.

And that, my friends, is why I'm having this delicious glass of wine.
